How do I get started Dirt Biking?
Filed under electric dirt bikesOct 6I just bought a Honda XR70 2003 from a good friend and wanted some tips to get started. I know how to start, ride, shift, brake, and my bike doesn’t have a clutch nor electric start. So you just shift with foot and nothing else. I wanted to learn to stand and go off of small jumps and things of that nature
You have to learn by doing. First time up the hill, go slow, then speed up after a while to catch some air. Be sure of the terrain and any obstacles before you try it. Don’t do it all at once. Build up to it.
Good luck.powered by Yahoo answers

I have never rode a dirt bike and I am thinking about getting a 140….I really like the YZ125's, but it doesn't have the electric start though….any suggestions would help!
Thanks!
Don't get a yz125 if you are a beginner; I made that mistake and regretted it. Simply put it would beat the hell out of a noob trying to ride it in trails.
The reason behind it is that it is a 2 stroke and therefore has the power of about double that klx and twice the kick. The KLX is a non performance (non racing) trails bike designed more toward beginners.I would highly suggest you stop off at a dealer to test drive both and compare them, you will see what I mean.
I had both a yz125 and a similar one (CRF150F) in the same situation. Dont make the same mistke I did.powered by Yahoo answers

I weigh about 66lbs age:10 and am about 4ft 5in
Where can I get one My friend has a ?cc electric start yamaha dirt bike
You should probable be on a 50 or 80cc bike. Look up your local dirt bike/atv/motorsport shop online or in the yellow pages and head down there to check out what they have, how it fits you, etc.powered by Yahoo answers

I am 23 yrs. old, 5'7….108lbs….I am thinking about a KLX 140…mainly because of the electric start…I have only rode quads–Raptor 350, never rode a dirt bike……any suggestions would help!
Thanks!
Great choice. You could also look at the TT-R125/230 and CRF150/230, but if you like the Kawasaki just go with it.powered by Yahoo answers

Hi well i want a electric scooter but then i saw dirt bikes and wanted one of those instead but my dad says that they are made for dirt not to just ride on the road or something like that but i say that it can also be used to ride on the road. Which is better and safer a electric scooter or dirt bike and why? ( also plz answer my question about if u can ride dirt bikes on the street )
wow thanks so much didnt know that -sigh- guess i will have to buy a electric scooter
Wait is there a scotter that goes almost as fast as the dirt bike ( and maybe even look a like )
No, many people are using dirt bikes on the street as commuter vehicles! I'm one of them. Do a search for SUPERMOTO. You will find dirt bikes with racing slicks on them, seriously. They handle better than a sport bike.It varies depending on state you live in for how hard it is to make a dirt bike street legal. As posted above there is the Kawasaki KLR 650 and 250. There is also the Suzuki DRZ400 (SM), DR650, Honda XR650L and XR230L, Yamaha WR250X, TTR… All bikes just listed are dirt bikes that come from the factory 50-state street legal!!! You can also make your choice of dirt bike street legal with some work.
Forget about the electric scooter…
